This report examines the role of civil society and private sector in the Republic of Moldova in achieving\u00a0the Millennium Development Goal 1 \u201cEradicate extreme poverty and hunger\u201d (MDG 1). In the\u00a0study took part in the civil society and the private sector and relevant government institutions and\u00a0relevant international organizations.
\nThe first two chapters of the report refer to the presentation of major trends in achieving MDG 1 by\u00a0the Government and the problems faced currently.
\nThe Republic of Moldova promotes modernization and updating in line with European standards\u00a0of social protection of the poor and at the same time takes measures to ensure consistently, whenever\u00a0possible, the existence of a minimum and prevent marginalization and social exclusion of persons in risk.\u00a0However, Moldova is now facing a higher level of number of people living in poverty, compared to\u00a0many countries in Europe.
\nThis study also highlights the active role and contribution that civil society organizations and the\u00a0private sector demonstrate in their work, contributing to the implementation of the Millennium\u00a0Development Goal 1 \u201eEradicate extreme poverty and hunger\u201d (MDG 1) based on cooperation with\u00a0State authorities and international organizations. Progress in eradicating poverty and hunger is possible\u00a0due to the implementation of various programs of social support, and various measures as appropriate\u00a0in agriculture and small and medium business development, including support of development\u00a0partners in the country. Some of the necessary measures mentioned refer to the development\u00a0of social assistance, especially social assistance to lower income persons and the establishment of a
\nNational System of Case Referrals. A particularly important role in carrying out and implementing\u00a0social programs is played by civil society organizations and to a certain extent, the private sector.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
