Gun culture in SEE
05.07.2006, 00:00 IPP

The Institute for Public Policy, personally Dr. Viorel Cibotaru, programme director, has participated during 2005-2006 in developing a research on gun culture in SEE countries.

The study examines how cultural beliefs and practices influence ownership and use of guns in this part of Europe, managing to demonstrate that the motivations for ownership and reasons for purchasing and used does not play a central role and does not justify them.

The full version of the research can be found on SEESAC's web site:, in English
