Education and Human Development: Actual and Future Challenges
This policy document is intended to analyze the Moldovan educational system from the perspective of the human development approach based on capabilities. Such an approach is focused on how education in the Republic of Moldova contributes to empowering people to pursue lives they have reasons to value and to enlarge the choices they enjoy. The paper is focused on opportunities, processes and outcomes of learning. It is based on the idea that an educational system can have a full contribution to human development only if it ensures universal access to education, provides relevant knowledge and teaches pupils and students how to practice lifelong learning.
