Promoting community-focused law enforcement in Moldova
Implementation period: December 2016 – June 2018
General objective:
- To achieve safer communities through increased capacities and community participation in community-based law enforcement and police reform.
Specific objectives:
- To identify, pilot and test the best mechanisms and tools for cooperation between the community and the police, by creating and supporting the activities of Community Safety Councils (Groups) within six communities selected according to specific geographic, demographic and social criteria.
- To build the capacity for community-based law enforcement as a mean of promoting safety, security and justice and lessening the gap between citizens and police.
